Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's children - was born at Woodland Hills in 1956. Her parents were a mother who was household worker and father who taught. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three elder brothers. From a young stage of life, McCormick enjoyed singing and dance, and she would frequently perform puppet shows for youngsters in the area. When McCormick was six years old, she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency approached her and asked her whether she'd like to go into the show business. McCormick's first big job was in 1964, when she appeared in a television commercial featuring Mattels baby doll, Baby Pattaburp. Later that year she did another commercial for Mattels Chatty Cathy doll and was shortly cast in the musical The Wind It up until It Breaks in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned to play the oldest daughter in the towheaded trio on The Brady Bunch.
